Acid Reflux and Diet

From the desk of Kathryn Whittaker
If you're sick of your esophagus feeling like it's on fire ... if you are tired of the bitter taste of stomach acid and bile ... if you're fed up with trying to sleep propped up on a mound of pillows ...

Hello, my name is Kathryn Whittaker and as a former acid reflux and heartburn sufferer, you can believe me when I say I know first hand the pain associated with this debilitating condition.
And thanks to my extensive research into this condition, I also now know natural treatments that can be safely used to help reduce and even eliminate acid reflux's painful symptoms |
You see, right at the top of your stomach is a circular muscle called the lower esophageal sphincter (LES for short). It's job is to open up to allow food to enter the stomach when we swallow, and close up once the food has passed through. This action prevents the acid in your stomach from backing up into your esophagus (refluxing). For frequent sufferers of Acid Reflux and GERD the LES works abnormally, by either not closing fully after swallowing or opening at the wrong times. This allows acid from the stomach to leak into the esophagus... where it doesn't belong and can cause damage to the delicate tissues lining your gullet... And did you know that millions of people have acid reflux and suffer from the pain of heartburn every day (about 25 million is the USA alone), so you are not alone... For some, acid is regurgitated into the lungs, causing a cough or wheezing and increasing the risk of lung scarring. Acid reflux in the throat can cause recurring sore throats and if acid reaches the mouth, it can dissolve the enamel on your teeth and give you bad breath... But that's not the worst of it... Acid reflux disease can trigger some serious medical conditions that may require hospitalization and even surgery... It can lead to severe inflammation and narrowing of the esophagus and a condition called Barrett's Esophagus that changes the cell lining in the esophagus (which increases the risk of esophagal cancer) - So, You Can See, If You Have Acid Reflux, Heartburn or GERD It Should NEVER Be Ignored... At this point you may be asking why not just take prescription or over the counter drugs...? Well, unfortunately, they not only have a multitude of side effects, they potentially make digestion harder leading to complications elsewhere in your in your digestive system like diarhea or constipation - And they generally only cover up your symptoms, never getting to the root of why you have acid reflux in the first place - Leaving You Dependent Upon Expensive Medication For Life. But there is a solution that I want to share with you... You see, when I'd finally reached the end of my teather and could not take any more I decided to devote many months of my life researching the reason behind the acid reflux symptoms... I wanted to know why I was getting heartburn and reflux on such a frequent basis when my friends weren't and what could be done to eliminate it once and for all. What I learnt came as quite a SHOCK...and I knew the discovery would help other acid reflux sufferers become symptom free naturally. |
